urban farming Denver, local food movement, organic pizza ingredients, best farm-to-table restaurants

Most restaurants source ingredients from farmers—but what if a restaurant became the farm? That’s exactly what Sazza Restaurant is doing with its urban garden, “Farmita.”

Bringing Farming to the City

In 2013, Jeff Rogoff and Jenni Hayes transformed a one-eighth acre plot in Denver into a thriving urban farm. Today, they grow over 800 plants, bringing farm-fresh produce straight to Sazza’s menu.

Bees, Sustainability, and Education

Sazza’s bee colony plays a crucial role in the farm’s ecosystem. “Bees are vital,” Jeff says. Pollination supports about one-third of what we eat.

The goal isn’t just to grow food—it’s to educate the community on sustainable farming. Sazza hosts local students and volunteers, teaching them how anyone can grow their own food, even in small spaces.
