eco-friendly dining, small business owner Denver, sustainable pizza

For Jeff Rogoff, food has always been more than just a business—it’s a passion for sustainability, community, and health. As the co-founder of Sazza Restaurant, Jeff has spent nearly two decades redefining what it means to run an eco-friendly restaurant in Denver.

A Dream Rooted in Sustainability

Back in 2004, Jeff and his wife, Jenni Hayes, were expecting their first child. With a growing family, Jeff saw an opportunity to create a business that would allow him to be his own boss while making a real difference.

His idea? A restaurant that serves delicious, organic, and sustainable food while giving back to the community. In 2006, Sazza was born—a name inspired by their love for salads and pizzas.

Building a Sustainable Business

From the start, Jeff made responsible sourcing a priority. He worked closely with local farmers and suppliers to ensure the freshest, most sustainable ingredients made it onto Sazza’s menu.

But Jeff didn’t stop at food. Sazza’s furniture, plates, and even branded merchandise are locally sourced. His dedication to small businesses ensures that every dollar spent at Sazza stays in the community.

Overcoming Challenges & Giving Back

Running a small business isn’t easy, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. Jeff kept his employees’ well-being at the forefront, securing grants and adapting to delivery and outdoor dining to keep Sazza going strong.

His leadership extends beyond Sazza, as he actively advocates for small businesses and policies that support independent entrepreneurs.

A Legacy of Good Food & Good Values

Jeff Rogoff is more than just a restaurant owner—he’s a community leader and sustainability advocate. Under his guidance, Sazza continues to set the standard for responsible dining in Denver.
